Updating OwnShip

Updating is one step: replace index.php.

How to update

1. Download the new index.php from ownship.cc.
2. Upload it to your server, overwriting the existing file.

That's it. Your site is updated.

What is not affected

OwnShip reads the following files but never writes to them. They survive any update untouched:

• site.ini — your configuration
• All .md, .html, and .txt content files
• _header.md / _header.html / _footer.md / _footer.html
• .htaccess (OwnShip manages its own marked block but leaves everything else alone)

How to confirm the version

The current version is always visible at the bottom of the navigation pane — look for the 🛫 OwnShip brand line. It links to ownship.cc and shows the version number.
